This week Anthony Wu and Brian So graduated from Sheldon High School while Lin Wang received her diploma from Franklin High.  I am super proud of them and their accomplishments.  Wishing them all the best as they enter a new chapter of their lives.  Congratulations!

CCO Welcomes New Conductor Laurie Lee

Capitol Chinese Orchestra is thrilled and proud to engage Laurie Lee as the new conductor.

Born and grew up in a music family, Laurie started learning Chinese instruments at age 5, and continued further studies with the Erhu. Started conducting at age 14. Seventeen years experience in Chinese performance, and eight years experience in Western performance, conducting, and music education. Experienced conductor, collaborator, arranger, coordinator, Erhu player, and pianist. She also plays pipa, xiaoruan, Chinese drums, and double bass.  Also held event coordinator, vice president, and president positions at an international student club in college. 

Laurie is also one of the conductors of Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra (FYCO) in San Jose.  She just graduated from college with a BM degree in Piano Performance.
